Once again, for school

How do I share things?

I use a couple different websites and tools for sharing things. Some more obvious than others, but they all suit my needs, and help make life easier.

• YouTube is my main video sharing site, as I've said before (Although haven't go round to the vlogging yet). Still got my artsy videos up there and still spend a lot of time looking at videos. For photos, I'm beginning to use 1X, which is a great site, although Flickr is great too. I just feel like the content on 1X is different and more interesting, in my opinion of course.
• Sharing with my friends? Has to be Facebook and Tumblr. Everyone's on Facebook, so it's a quick and easy way to show your friends photos and video. And Tumblr is a great looking website that I use for sharing album artwork with people.
• Big music fan, as if you haven't already guessed, so music takes up a huge part of my day. I use applications like Spotify, 8 Tracks and Tune Glue for finding, sharing and listening to music. Spotify is incredible, I have over 2500 songs "Starred" on their database, which contains all my favorite music;as a premium member, I get to download my playlists for offline use, and higher quality music that sounds awesome. And by dragging and dropping I can instantly share cool bands with friends. 8 Tracks is a playlist sharing site, simple but nice to use once in a while. Tune Glue is a website that can take a band you like, and give you recommendations based on that; the cool bit is that it's all set out kinda like a mind map, which looks awesome and functions great.

That pretty much covers my online sharing sites, or at least the ones I use the most. Of course I don't just share online (although that is often the best way). Just telling friends about things gets the job done pretty well.

Of course this all leads on to the next question... How do I find things?

All of the above obviously work the other way round as well, people share their content, and I find it. Simple. I have all my social network links to my favorite people and famous figures, so I constantly get a live feed of whats happening... and often end up finding out about things online far before I see it on TV or in the paper. But there are other places I find stuff...

• For information and research, I usually get on Wikipedia and search around there. Hyperlinks are the life and blood of that website, and I've spent way too many hours searching something for homework, and then ending up learning about something completely different. It's definitely not the best for simple information, but for interesting general knowledge it's the best. For facts and figures, Wolfram|Alpha is a great search engine, avoiding the jargon you have to get through on Wikipedia.
• Big fan of random sites that have something interesting to say... or just finding things I would never of thought of searching for. That's why StumbleUpon is great, although of course as with most random things there is some hit and miss involved. 
• Finally there is always a good old book to find something in, and Google is an incredible tool for finding a whole selection of articles on certain topics... whether they are photos, news articles or map locations.
• OTHER PEOPLE. Speaks for itself :)

Well there you go, how I find things, and how I share things. The internet has helped make it massively easier to share and find content, and that's whats so great about it... In a massive interlinked community, you're bound to find something worth talking about it.
